Ancestor Money

The first time I heard of Ancestor money was around the year 2013-2014, watching a program on PBS. It was interesting learning about Chinese culture, but what caught my attention is the way they chose to honor their deceased, by burning Ancestor money.

It is originally known as Joss Paper but is also known as ghost paper, ancestor money, Hell/Heaven money. Regardless of what you call it, it will be represented by the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor is considered the deity over all money on Earth, which is why you will see him on Joss money.

Joss Paper goes back to 1000 B.C., when archaeologist found stones and bones in tombs. During the Spring/ Autumn period, around 1600-1046 A.D., metal money was found. It was fragile made of bronze and lead. The Archaeologists thought that this was an area for the poor, but soon realized it was meant for the wealthy.

Joss money comes in different sizes and denominations. Offering of this money is the preferred method because burning real money is considered disrespectful.

Joss money has now made its way to the West. The offering of Joss money is a way of honoring and veneration towards your deceased.  It is a symbol of transformation and a way to help with spiritual debts. Joss money is sent by the living relatives for the deceased.

When one burns Joss money for a deceased relative it dissolves negative debt karma. You help your ancestors out they will look out for you as well.

Joss money should be burned in a cauldron, porcelain bowl, or porcelain plate. What ever you have that's heat safe will work for burning the money. You can burn Joss money for one particular relative or your whole line.

For those relatives who have transitioned on their birthday, I'll burn Joss money for them by writing their name, birthday and write something special like "I love you".  Burn and then place on my plate and watch it burn completely out.     For your line, I say, " This is for my relatives known and unknown, maternal and paternal. "

Ancestor money is the belief that your deceased relatives still have an existence, and still can influence the  future of the living. Ancestor money is burnt in honor and respect of the deceased. Mitchell Gibson, and Sri Gano Grills have spoken on Ancestor money.

Who is Sambo?

by Imani Muhammad

Sambo is an ugly word used towards African-American males during the slavery and post-Civil War era. Sambo in the United States depicted the African-American male as one who was irresponsible, ugly, big lip, non- articulate, This narrative in the United States began in 1808 with a short story by Reverend Edmund Botsford called, Sambo and Toney.  Sambo and Toney was a story of a conversation between two slaves. The two characters were depicted as subservient, ignorant and inarticulate linguistically. This was the beginning of negative stereotyping of the African-American for the enjoyment and entertainment of white audiences.

This culture in North America would continue with books written by authors such as Harriet Beecher Stowe, who wrote, Uncle Tom's Cabin, it was published in 1852. The character in Uncle Tom's Cabin of Sambo was an overseer on the plantation ran by Simon Legree.   In 1899 Scottish author Helen Bannerman who was living in India wrote the book called, Little Black Sambo
Little Black Sambo is about a, " South Indian boy who lives with his father and mother, named Black Jumbo and Black Mumbo, respectively. While out walking, Sambo encounters four hungry tigers, and surrenders his colourful new clothes, shoes, and umbrella so they will not eat him. The tigers are vain and each thinks he is better dressed than the others. They chase each other around a tree until they are reduced to a pool of ghee (clarified butter). Sambo then recovers his clothes and collects the ghee, which his mother uses to make pancakes." Wikipedia

The derogatory images, stereotypes and stories about African-American males and females would continue on through minstrel shows during slavery and the post-Civil War era. This was used to convince a white audience on the support of slavery. Minstrel shows, 1880's-1900's, after the Civil War turned into Vaudeville shows,1880's-1930's, again in the entertainment of white audiences.  These shows showed the white male in stereotypical blackface, even though this practice goes further back, it can be traced back to 1827 to Thomas Dartmouth Rice.

The portrayal of white actors in blackface continued into the 20th century with actors such as

Shirley Temple

Al Jolson

Mickey Mouse

The list goes on with Eddie Cantor, Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Mickey Rooney, Bob Hope, Robert Downey Jr.  Just google actors who have played in black face and a list will come up.  You can also click here to see that this pratice still continues over seas. This was and still is a racist tactic to depict a group of people. The damage of the portrayal of African-American people in North America has set into motion. What's really disheartening is the African-Americans who have jumped upon this band wagon and choose to act this way.

Was there an actual Sambo in History?

Actually, yes there was.  In the book, The Gods of Northern Buddhism, Their History and Iconography, is an account of a Buddha known as Sam Bo. Sam Bo was a deity in Hinduism.

If you ever noticed in children's books written on the Sambo, he always had a tiger or tigers around him. It was not coincidental.  They discovered what you know not.

"In Nepal, Colonel Kirpatrick found Maha Muni, Maha Deo or Buddha, under the name of, Sumbo or Sambo Nath; that is the Lord Sam Bo."  The Asiatic Journal and Monthly Register for British India and Its.., Vol. , page 20.  Written in 1816-1862

The images that Americans have been shown so long of their version of Sambo was to make African-Americans feel denigrated, inferior and used as a form of racism from one group to another.  You were not to know about a melinated Buddha because it would strengthen and empower you. You are not inferior. You had your feet on every continent.  This is Sambo. Are you still ashamed?

I also suggest checking out the website Black Buddha and the Israelite Buddhist. The above quote from Anacalypsis was borrowed from this page.  This site goes more in depth of the Black Buddhas in the East.

Why I Am Celibate

I first wrote this piece in 2017. Eight years later, its truth still holds: celibacy isn’t about denial, it’s about protection, reflection, and honoring your energy until love shows up in its highest form. My journey has changed, but this message remains.

Celibacy is nothing new to me. I consider it almost like a partner in itself.  But there are times when being celibate gives me the blues and I just want to fulfill that urge, and then I then I look out into the world and go, naw I'm good.  Celibacy for me started after I was married to my first husband.  It was my way to reflect on the relationship that I just got out of. Then two years later I met someone else and ended up marrying him. Mind you I was a practicing Muslim at that time, and the Sisters I hung around where older than I were. They were mother figures to me. I was just in my early 20's when I embraced this religion.  So, it was taught that a woman should not be without a husband for a long time, and that she should not have sex outside being married or not married, and that she should be married. To sum up the number of times I was married, it was four, and only in one of those marriages did I have a beautiful girl.

Anyways, the space I gave myself between those four marriages to breathe and reflect was two years before I would meet the next one and then get married.  After, the fourth marriage, being Muslim was a wrap for me because his behavior was the one that really woke me up and scared me, being that I had a young baby girl at the time.  A year after him I walked away from it all, so you think since I made myself free I would have a ball and go to town with my social life since I missed eight years of it I would be just out here doing my thing, but I wasn't.  It didn't hold anything special for me before Islam and it didn't hold anything special for me after I left.

It would be 8 years later when I would meet someone and it only lasted two months even though it felt like a year. Really it did.  It meant he wasn't supposed to be in my cipher or we were just cleaning up some old past life junk.  I would then learn from a friend of mines, who is into Metaphysics, that when two people have sex they are also merging together as one spiritually, which then makes them married to one another, spiritually. I'm sitting there thinking, "oh my goodness there are some people I don't even want to be married to spiritually let alone physically  any longer. My goodness." I did end up saying this to him, and he laughed at me.  I was serious.  I would then do study on my own to learn more about this, because there was other reasons behind why I chose to be Celibate but wasn't understanding why.

I ended up meeting a beautiful guy in 2015 that only ended up lasting a year, because all he wanted to do was party and hang out, and I'm not going to throw him under the bus because his spirit was beautiful. He just wasn't ready to be with me yet.  Sex is a beautiful thing, but after you've been around them for a while will make you think, "why did I have sex with this person."  Then you feel like you're stuck.  Sex is more so a spiritual connection to another person. It's more than just two bodies creating friction off of one another. It's a body, spirit connection, so guys everything you feel or think while having sex with a woman, you transfer those feelings to her, so don't be surprised when she comes back at you down the road cussing you out or mentally thinking some type of way about you.  Women are natural receivers of energy whether they realize it or not.  Any negative thoughts about her, she is going to pick those up.  If you can't have sex with a woman without having a negative thought then you don't need to have sex with her. How I feel.

For now I'm comfortable with her, and until the right guy shows up with the right energy, and is present in the here and now of our relationship, and is not broken looking for somebody to heal and fix him up, 'cause that was the past narrative of men in my life that I no longer accept, then I will be waiting for him to show up.  It's about truly loving yourself. Sometimes that love you give to others needs to be held on for yourself, because no one can love you like you love you.  Everybody that comes into your life is just an add-on. When a person leaves you, you have to be comfortable in your space to be okay with the fact that no one else is there but you. It's Okay to miss people when they decide its not working because that's part of the healing process. That's time for you reflect on what happened and how you can better improve on yourself. I've learned everybody in your life is there to teach you something.  So, in your line of relationships past and present, intimate or not, what have you learned about yourself from dealing with other people because this is how you grow as an individual. That's what relationships are growing as a couple together but still checking in to see how you've grown as an individual.

So, why am I Celibate? Because I seeing what I see I don't want to deal with it in my cipher which means I need to vibrate a little higher, and I don't want to spiritually have anyone her who is just going to be a parasite. I've had those too. It's not about merely having someone here, because someone who is here can be like a lump sitting on a log.  I want more and I understand what my more is.

Creatures Emerging From the Deep

About 5 months ago I was listening to a blogtalk radio podcast. On this podcast a woman by the name of Latoya "Jedi" Jackson was saying how there were young Caucasian males who were using there sperm to create creatures, and then letting them free into nature. Some of these creatures are in the ocean.  She also said that because of the radiation still flowing from Fukoshimu that it was mutating some of the sea creatures.

Well about two days ago unexpectedly I came upon a video of a person who used his sperm and the embryo of a chickens egg to create something.

I have also been coming across articles of unidentified types of creatures washing a shore in different countries. So, it's not just Scientist creating clones and other creatures like in the movie Island of Dr. Moreau. The other factors is males using there own sperm to create creatures.

Mystery as giant grey sea creature washes up on Australian beach

Then there is also the unexplored depths of the ocean that no one or machine has explored. So, that brings up the question what is happening in the oceans to have animals beach as well as bring unidentified type creatures to the surface.
